Review : Meant To Be

Meant To Be by Maggie McGinnis

Genre: Contemporary, Romance, Western, Music
Goodreads: Click
Purchase Link : Amazon | Kobo | B&N
Pages: 278
Hailed by Christie Craig as “a witty new voice in contemporary romance,” Maggie McGinnis takes readers back to Montana’s sexiest dude ranch, where anyone can start over, and falling in love is just a beautiful twist of fate.

At twenty-eight, Shelby Quinn’s already a has-been. Scooped off a country stage at sixteen and remolded into glittery pop princess Tara Gibson, she toured the country for a decade, playing to sold-out stadiums while slowly losing her soul. Now her sales are waning, and when her beloved father dies in a fiery plane crash, she finally comes apart at the seams. Alone and brokenhearted, she hides away at Whisper Creek Ranch, never expecting to meet a man who understands her in a way no one else ever has.

Cooper Davis was one of Boston’s top detectives—until a bogus investigation cost him his badge, his family, and almost his life. Now he’s wrangling horses and guests at Whisper Creek Ranch, while keeping one eye firmly on a super-secret VIP holed up in a private cabin—a beautiful, soulful singer who knows what it’s like to lose everything. Cooper and Shelby both have ample reason to guard their hearts. But if they can learn to trust each other, something magical awaits them under the big skies and bright stars.

Shelby is a popstar and knows shes is past her prime. When her father passes away in a tragic plan crash and things start to fall apart for her. Now shes on a metal health break with a dude ranch under the radar until she can get herself straight. Cooper is one of the men at the dude ranch settled there for a quiet life after dealing with a whole set of problem. Now he's stuck watching over Shelby as a sort of body guard. Little did they expect to fall for one another just when things come crashing down with each of them having their own set of problems.

I liked this book had everything I find myself enjoying in a contemporary romance, especially when it comes with the complicated guys. I loved their chemistry. I loved seeing Cooper get in better spirits as well as watching the meddling people of the ranch take their part. I enjoyed the characters and seeing what intimately ended up landing both of them in the situations of being at the ranch and what happened after when their problems came. I loved that ending, loved it! It was so sweet and cute. Overall pretty good book I really enjoyed it.

My name is Ace and I'm the Ace of Spades.
I'm not nice and I misbehave.
I will be your nightmare.
I will be your dream.
I will have you begging for more of me with each scream.

The truth is in my lyrics.
Uncontrollably controlled.
I bleed many things one being Rock & Roll.

I don't date or make love, I fuck real hard.
Did you know the ace of spades is considered the death card?
Love doesn't exist in my world, it never did.
Love won't exist in my world, it's something I forbid.

My name is Ace and I'm the ace of spades.
Proceed with caution, because I'm sharp like a blade.

The Band of Brothers novels are full length and will follow each brother in the band.
They can be read together or separately.

Review:

Elizabeth was less then trilled finding out that she'd have to go on tour to get the inside scoop of the Band of Brothers and try to get a interview of Ace. Ace refuses to be interviewed and has his set lifestyle of singing and sleeping with a different girl. Elizabeth is the exact opposite of the the girls he's normally attracted to. Then there was a moment where Ace got to see Elizabeth and slowly change his mind, and maybe the way he was living wasn't enough anymore.

I liked this book, it was enjoyable. In the beginning I didn't very much like Ace, I actually though of him the same way that Elizabeth though. I liked Elizabeth's character her slowly gaining confidence in herself. I liked seeing Aces character slowly make himself into a better man. I loved their relationship and how not everything was perfect. I love that there was enough drama to keep things interesting. Overall a really great book I really enjoyed it.

Tonight I would fuck the blonde in the front row who continued to visually rip my clothes off with every little blink she took. Her tits were hanging out of her shirt and she licked her lips and batted her eyes at me. The set was nearing the end and I could feel her gaze. When I looked away and back at her, it was like her eyes had never left me. I liked when a woman knew what she wanted.

Blue and green lights flashed over the stage then washed across the crowd. When we made eye contact again, her tongue traced the outside of her plump bottom lip and at that moment I knew she was DTF. Her being down to fuck made this so much easier but then again, being the lead singer of the Band of Brothers made panties magically melt. I'd be her fantasy for the night. I'm sure there would be many more one night stands considering each show from Florida to New York, all the way to California was sold out.

The drums beat on as I screamed out the next few lyrics. "I won't let the world decide. I'll die before that happens."

The drums stopped and the distortion was cut leaving a melodic strum of Nikolas's guitar.

The lights faded when walked off stage leaving the crowd screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. Jex, Nic, and Rex had huge smiles covering their faces as they chugged the water the technicians handed us. This would never get old. Moments like this were the ones we lived and worked for. Once the chanting and clapping rose to the maximum volume, the four of us walked back onstage and gave the fans what they wanted, an encore.

Green and yellow lights flashed over the crowd and smoke hovered at the bottom of the stage. We played three more songs. People sang and swayed to the lyrics and music. Some jumped up and down, feeling the full beat of the drums while others banged their heads. The feeling of having thousands of people chanting my words would never become real. More often than not, I felt like I was in a dream, one that I never wanted to wake from.

During the last song, I pointed to the blonde. By the way she was dressed in a tight pink shirt and a skirt that showed the bottom of her ass cheeks, I knew she wanted to be seen. She could have possibly had this night planned from the beginning. Randomly, I chose a few others from the crowd to join us, to dance in front of our audience, to feel the temporary power. It was something I did every show, every tour. It was a habit of sorts.

Security helped the girls climb on the stage and they lifted their arms and shook their asses. Before the song ended, the technicians led the girls' side stage as cannons of small fireworks shot from the floor. After the final song, my brothers and played the crowd and threw drumsticks and guitar picks. The yelling didn't stop for minutes and the audience realized we weren't coming back out. I walked side stage where girls anxiously waited us. I smiled, popping an eyebrow at my chosen woman for the night, and she instantly came to me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and hers hung on my waist. My brothers stopped in the green room with the other girls, but Blondie and I walked to the bus.

"I'm Lindsey," she whispered in my ear before we reached the end of the hallway. I smiled at her and pushed open the exit door. Groupies and fans waited near the bus and as soon as we walked up they rushed it.

"I'll be out in a bit," I said, smiling at them with pearly whites. "My brothers are coming out that door over there. Really soon."

I hated to out their exit strategy, but I wanted to take my time burying my dick deep inside Misty or Christy or whatever the fuck her name was. It didn't matter. Names never did.

Synopsis:

Jess is caught off guard when a sexy stranger buys her a cup of coffee and asks her to sit with him. He's mysterious, nice, and even though he says the right things at the right time, Jess can sense that there's something hidden about him.

As Johnnie sits across from the beautiful woman, he can't believe she doesn't recognize him. Everyone does. It comes with the territory when you're the lead singer of one of the hottest bands in the world, Chasing Cross. With one more show to go before taking a small break in touring, it feels like luck is on Johnnie's side. That is, if he can find a way to tell Jess who he is, without scaring her off.

After her best friend begs her to come to a concert, Jess finds herself standing in the middle of a crowd. The lights are off, music begins, and the crowd erupts in cheers. She doesn't know much about the band, but that's all about to change. When the lights come on, Jess can't believe her eyes. The lead singer of the band is the man from the café.

Plucked from the crowd during the show, Jess makes her way backstage. The encore may have ended on stage, but the real show is just about to begin. Johnnie's passion quickly turns to romance but the more time he and Jess spend together, the more things get complicated. Johnnie has a big decision to make about himself and the band, testing his loyalty and love for the music, and when Jess's dreams start to come true, she starts to realize that true love exists, but it's not always an easy path to take.

Review:

Jess and her best friend were to go to a concert when Jess realizes that the hott singer is the same guy she met hours before in a cafe. Things are bit a complicated for both Jess and Johnnie. Jess is going through issues of being an author and Johnnie isn't quite the person he used to be and it looking for a change with his bandmates. Both weren't looking looking for love but they sure found it.

I found myself really enjoying this book. It was one of the many books that I come across in my kindle that's been there for a while and never got a moments to check it out. I'm so glad to have come across this book. I mean there wasn't anything overly dramatic about this book it was just a light and fun read. I enjoyed the characters, I loved that there was a dual POV of the Jess and Johnnie. I just wished there was more to the characters, backgrounds stories and such but then again it was a pretty short book and there was just enough to keep the readers interested. Now I'm going off to see whats next in store for these bands mates in the next book.

Review: Inspiring You

Ayden knows it’s time to remember what really happened four years ago, so he can help save his sister. With the help of Lyric, he faces his past head on.

But dealing with the truth is difficult.

Will Ayden finally be free of his past so he can move forward to his future?

My Review:

Ayden with the help of Lyric is going to try out a experimental hypnosis treatment that could really make a difference in his sisters missing case. As pasts are reveals

Just wow, such a great ending. I loved that for a short book it really packs in a lot to keep the readers entertained. I loved watching most of Ayden's fears slowly but surely fade with the help Lyric. That also includes his relationship with Lyric getting past that step to being close to truly be with her. This was a such a great series and trust me when I say that it will have a way with messing with the readers emotions.

This was a great conclusion to this series and now I look forward  to seeing more from other characters that appeared in this book in Forget me Not and Iridescent when they come out.

Review : One Night with a Billionaire

One Night with a Billionaire by Jessica Clare

(Billionaire Boys Club #6)
Genre: Contemporary, Romance, Music, Erotica, Adult, Chick Lit, New Adult
Goodreads : Click
Pages : 294
Expected publication: June 2nd 2015 by Berkley

The New York Times bestselling author of The Wrong Billionaire’s Bed delivers a delicious new novel about a secret society of six men who are incredibly wealthy—but not always so successful when it comes to love…

Kylie may be a makeup artist to the stars, but she knows what it feels like to be overshadowed. Especially by her famous boss, the pop star Daphne. That’s why she’s stunned—and delighted—when one night at a party, she attracts the attention of a gorgeous stranger. But when Daphne decides she wants the handsome billionaire for herself, Cade Archer is suddenly off-limits for Kylie…

Cade has known Daphne for years, and always wondered if she might be the right woman for him—even though she never gave him the time of day. But one sizzling night with Kylie has changed everything. So why is she suddenly avoiding him? Fortunately Cade is determined to get what he wants, and he’ll do anything to show Kylie she can get everything she wants too…

I absolutely loved the characters and thought Kylie was perfect for Cade. I am so glad he finally got his Happily Ever After!” ~ Cocktails and Books
So apparently I just jumped right into a series without knowing it as well as not knowing what this book was even bout. Just simply knowing that Jessica Clare wrote it I accepted the ARC copy for this book and starting reading. Trust me this book doesnt disappoints.

I loved that that Kylie was a strong women who is working towards being independent, learning from a very young age that she was a burden . She is also a big beautiful women who uses her skills of make up to make not only her self but others confident. I loved that Kylie used her past to build her self up, she used her past to make herself more independent and caring. After what her grand mother put her through she could've just dumped her senile grandmother with someone else but was caring enough to help her. I thought Cade's characters was interesting, hes your basic billionaire with the blonde hair, caring, helpful and loyal ways. He's dealt with alot dealing with Daphne crap and learning to get past her. I loved that there was the dual point of view which helped me love each charater more. I loved that there was enough drama, romance, and steamy scenes to keep things interesting.

Overall this was a fantastic book and I loved it. I look forward to seeing more from the others books as well as looking forward to any books that may come after this.

Review : Rock & Release

Rock & Release by Riley Edgewood

Publication date: January 5th 2015
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance, Music, Death
Goodreads: Click

Purchase Link: Amazon

Formerly released as a three-act serial, Rock & Release contains all three acts (VIP, Starstruck, & Show Stopper) together in one complete novel.

Cassidy Evans is looking for an escape over her college summer break. And when one night with a few too many martinis leads her to sexy guitarist, Gage Logan, she may have found exactly what she needs.

He’s hot and he’s sweet, and in the bedroom he’s enough to make Cassidy forget her own name. Multiple times. But as her heart opens to Gage, feelings she’s been trying to avoid slip through, too. Regret over her rocky relationship with her parents. Pain from her brother’s recent death. Guilt over a fallout with her best friend… As much as she craves Gage, she can’t unlock her heart the way she feels he deserves.

Enter Luca James, international rock star and lead singer for Gold Rush Standard. Cassidy can’t stand his music. She can’t stand his arrogance. And, when he sets his sights on more than the drinks she serves him, she especially can’t stand how she’s drawn to his no-strings-attached flirting.

Soon Cassidy will have to make a choice: ignore her heart and go after the carefree life she covets, or stand strong to face a bittersweet reality.

Either way, she risks losing everything she truly wants.

Cassidy and her family are going through issues with their grief. Cassidy had her whole summer planned with an amazing internship but is looking forward to her one night of freedom left. When shes able to score some amazing tickets to be VIP to see a concert, then an offer to work at a concert venue, throw a guy in the mix and now things start to get complicated. Grief and a lot of bad decision making can cause a person to do things they would'nt normally do but Cassidy is trying to find herself and find a way to be happy again.

I just want to recommend to you readers out there reading this that you should get this book over the seperate books in this series. Simply because this book is great and because you'll want to read the next book straight away and its a hassle if the books are seperate. Theres a load of drama (and I mean loads of it) and sexy scenes. You'll probably want to smack Cassidy a couple times just to set her head straight because she makes alot of dumb choices but its still fun to read. There is never a dull moment and things are fast paced throughout the book.

My name is Olivia Bloom and I. Am. Free.

I left for LA with everything I owned piled into my old Volkswagen and dreams of becoming a costume designer. Little did I know I’d wind up designing for a lingerie company—yeah, not sure how I landed this gig—and taken under the wing of two young Hollywood insiders. The fashion shows and parties were great, but life really got exciting when the seriously hottest lead singer of my favorite band started to fall for me.

How does someone like me, an ordinary girl from Pittsburgh, wind up in the arms of the world’s sexiest rock star—surrounded by celebrities, fashion, and music—and not be eaten alive? Berkeley is everything I've ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, but the paparazzi, the tabloids, the rumors, it's all getting a bit too crazy. My life has become every girl’s dream come true, if only I don’t blink and lose it all…

My Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters. This book seems totally unrealistic so I had to keep an open mind about everything because the way Olivia got things it was way too easy. I liked her quirky mother she was kind of funny and annoying at times. One thing I didn't like about Olivia was that she jumped to conclusions way too quickly without reason. She causes herself a lot of drama by running from a situation or ignoring it. I liked that neither of the main characters had a horrific background, daddy issues or some type of tragity based background, way to many NA book lately all have that same theme and this book wasn't like that. I liked that both characters came from decent parents and had a good childhood. I thought that at sometimes things were done way to fast and then at other times this book seems to slow down too much. This book was kind of all over the place for me but I still found myself enjoying this book.

Blurb:

The only thing rock star Marcus Troy loves more than making music is his kids. So finding just the right nanny to take on tour with them is important—as is proving to his ex he deserves joint custody. Falling for his employee wouldn’t just be fodder for the paparazzi: it could ruin everything.

Too bad the perfect nanny turns out to be beautiful, vibrant Ryan Evans. Ryan’s never left her small Montana town before, so she jumps at the chance to see the country. And as much as accidental fame doesn’t gel with shy Ryan, what does is her relationship with her capricious, smoking-hot, shockingly good dad of a boss. Marcus is nothing like what she expected. But when the whole world’s watching them, will life in the spotlight be too hot to handle?

My Thoughts:

Ryan needs to earn money so she can go to school and had taken up a job as a nanny for the famous Marcus Troy's children while he's on tour.  As Ryan and Troy's attraction start to bloom in comes people and paparazzi who turn things into what it isnt. Will Ryan be able to take the spotlight or leave Troy and his to children behind?

I enjoyed the book. I felt like Ryan is such a relate able character. She's just a women starting to get through schooling and trying to make something of herself. I liked that it wasn't such an immediate thing. This book was over the course of a summer and I liked that they didn't practically jump each other. I liked the connection between the two. I liked that there was enough drama to keep me interested. I felt that this book was fast paced and well written and I really enjoyed reading it.

Blurb:

Chloe and Drake have found their happily ever after... Almost.

When Chloe's mother comes back into her life with a bang, it sets off a chain of events no one could have ever expected. Everyone has their demons, and Chloe and Drake's hit them with a vengence.

Sex, drugs, money, a crazy ex, and Rock n Roll.... Can they survive it all?

Things are beginning to feel a bit... Twisted.

My Thoughts:

Chloe and Drake after so much drama are finally together. When Chloe's mother shows up things start to get a little twisted. Chloe ends up finding out that a loving aunt is on her deathbed and with the harassment of her mother goes to her aunts house. Meanwhile Drake and his band are on tours. Chloe just can't seem to catch a break when things happen she can never seem to get a hold of Drake and she ends up leaning on the shoulder of an old friend that Drake is jealous of.

I just loved that there was much going on that there was never a dull moment. Even if some situations were predictable I loved how the story turned out. I loved that there was so much drama. I hated the way Drake was in this book and I liked that Chloe was strong  enough to call a stop when things were getting to hard. I liked that Chloe stuck to her relationship and what she believes in. Like most of the comments you'll probably come across what was annoying about this book was that a lot of people seemed to like Chloe and it was just hard to believe. This book was well written. I loved the ending turned out, with no loose ties. Highly Recommend!

When her parents tell her they’re getting divorced, Maggie decides it’s time to leave home and take her future into her own hands. Moving in with Cole, her best friend and sometimes boyfriend, might not be the best of ideas, but she’s got to start somewhere. Their off-and-on romance gets even more complicated when Maggie crushes on her new voice teacher, Nathan, who unlocks her stunning potential. A sensational music career of her own is finally within reach, but Maggie might need more than perfect pitch to find what she’s really looking for.

My Thoughts:

This book is well written. I loved the characters and loved how relate able the characters were. They felt really real. I noticed a trend with NA books were it can be quite dominated with sex and I love how this book was not at all like that (Not that I'm complaining) . This book was pretty clean and can be enjoyed by young adults or any one for that matter. Overall I really enjoyed this book and recommend you readers to check out this book
