Since A LOT of people have been asking here is the scoop on how this book fits in with my Rook & Ronin series:

Ford first appears in Rook and Ronin #2, Manic. He has a bigger role in Panic, R&R #3, and then he has a novella, called SLACK. This TAUT book is only FORD. It's not really part of the R&R series, as that plot has all been sidelined for this one romance book.

My Thoughts:

Ford wants Rook but won't do anything because he doesn't want to loose Ronin. While heading home on new years his old car ends up failing him leaving him stuck in a blizzard in his hometown. The tow truck driver that was willing to help happens to have another stranded  person in his car. It was that moment that he saw Ashleigh and couldn't get her out of his mind. Normally closed off and a bit a a jerk, Ford is willing to help this women and her child. The more time spend the more his cold heart starts to get close to her. Ashleigh is a fiery young women who will challenge Ford, she's everything he needs. She's not at all like his pets and will fight him if she has to. Both have pasts and secrets will it tear them apart?  

I'm not even sure where this book comes in, one things that's plain to see is that this book is a branch off of Rook and Ronin series.

For me, when it came to Rook and Ronin's series the one person that really stuck out to me was Ford, he was the mysterious oddball that I just wanted to know more and was so happy that his story was able to come out. This book was not at all what I was expecting and with a personal touch this book connected me to were I can understand the character and really enjoy Ford. I have asperger syndrome and when you have a diagnosis and a book character has the same, you tend to get really pick at the characters to look for a bit of certain traits or characteristics. (Or maybe that's just me.) I really appreciate that the author didn't make him seem to out of the ordinary, there was so much more to him then his asperger. I just found his character interesting. By far out of all the characters even from Rook and Ronin's series Ford is my favorite. (But then again I should read the rest of the books that also branch out from the series I may change my mind but I doubt that.)

I loved the overall story. I enjoyed seeing Ford come out of his shell and try to open himself to the possibilities of seeing Ashleigh more then a pet but as a love interest. I loved hearing his thoughts about the baby and Ashleigh some I just couldn't help but laugh at. The steamy scenes were great. I just loved everything about this book and highly recommend you lovely readers to check out this book! 5 of 5 stars!

My Thoughts:

"How do you get through to someone who doesn't want you to get to them? How do you save someone who doesn't want to be save"

Nova finally has gotten she help she needs to straighten out her life. She refuses to go to that dark place again. It if wasn't for Quinton rejecting her, she would've never seen the last video Landon made before his suicide that helped her get past her issues. Now Nova wants to help Quinton, but she hasn't seen him in months. When she gets a lead of where he is she refuses to back down. She refuses to leave until she gets him the help but it could break her but at least she can say she tried.

"Quinton, the beautiful artist, who carries guild on his shoulders, who, even  in his darkest times made me smile when no one else could, who showed me a dark world that made me what to see the light again. And I want to make him see the light, too. I just need to find him."

Quinton just needs to forget his life, Nova, Lexi, everyone and everything. Drugs do that for him. Things are starting to go down when money does missing, dealers come around with pipes and Nova comes to find him. Quinton just wants to forget her but shes slowly making her way back into his heart reminding him about the things he desperately wants to forget.

"Sometimes you can't help people no matter how much you want to."

This is a story of drugs, addiction and guilt. If your looking for a sappy love story where everything is sunshine and rainbows don't bother reading this book. This book is dark and intense. I loved how there was never a dull moment and that there was so much going on. The ending was interesting I'm curious of what happens next. After knowing about their pasts from the first book its easy to connect to these characters and be heartbroken to Quinton and Nova. Watching Quinton sink deeper into drugs and how unfortunate his life is getting and seeing how Nova was slowly sinking into that dark place to try to help him. Its hard not get get emotions and feel for these characters.

"I feel like banging my head on the wall, surrounded by a ton of people who need help, but don't want it. And I'm not strong enough to help all of them at once. What am I supposed to do? Keep trying until I break? Walk away and always regret not staying? Because I know that's where this will go."

There is so much to love about this book but nearly impossible to talk about without ruining the book. The closest I can get without ruining the book for you readers is putting up these quotes. You must read the book to know how great it is. If you don't read it you'll be missing out. Highly Recommend! 5 of 5 stars!

“Nova, get in here,” Lea, my best friend and roommate for the last year, calls out from my room, interrupting my video making. “I think I found something.”

I open my eyes and stare at my image on the screen, so different from how I appeared last summer when I was addicted to several things, including denial. “I’ll pick up on this later,” I say to my camera phone, then click it off and flip upright, getting to my feet.

Blood rushes down from my head and vertigo sets in, sending the nearly empty room around me spinning. I brace my hand against the wall and make my way to the bedroom.

“What’d you find?” I ask Lea as I stumble through the doorway.

She’s sitting on the floor in the midst of our packing boxes with the computer on her lap, her back against the wall and her legs stretched out in front of her. “An old newspaper article on the Internet that mentions a Quinton Carter involved in a fatal car accident in Seattle.”

My Thoughts:

Lacey has been prone to panic attacks since a very young age and its always been brushed off that she'll grow out of it but hasn't. So day to day she goes on a routine to make life comfortable and this routine is shaken when she find out that her parents are going on a mission to Turkey and can't bring her along. Now she must find a new normal and a place to stay. When her best friend Wyatts offers her a place to stay she's happy about it but worried that he doesnt understand that extent of her attacks.

Wyatt has PTSD after seeing the death of his friend when he was in the army. Now he drowns himself in booze, drugs and women. Lacey doesnt know the extend of his lifestyle but when she needs a place to stay he offers her to stay with him. Wyatt has always wanted Lacey but with her constantly reminding them they are friends he struggles to stay away. While she lives there he has to learn to curb his feelings and hidden lifestyle.

I just loved this book. I knew the characteristics of Lacey were to familiar because in ways I see it in myself everyday. It's rare that I come across book that has the same diagnosis that Lacey had. (Not even sure If I should say what it is because I don't want to spoil the book.) When I see it in books I really makes me happy. I loved this book, the characters were interesting. I loved that this book have Wyatt's and Lacey's POV. It helped me understand and enjoy their characters more. There was never a dull moment and this book was well-written. Overall I loved this story it worth 5 of 5 stars!

Can't wait for this book to come out, I would really love a physical copy of this book. Until then I'll be sure to check out the previous books.

"Over the past few whirlwind weeks, I'd forgotten about the promise I'd made to myself many years ago to keep my damn eyes open. Life isn't about closing your eyes and making a wish. That way leads to denial, disappointment, danger, and a bunch of other D-Words. Smart people keep their eyes open and make their own good fortune."

This was a great ending to the Peaches Monroe Trilogy. I really enjoyed this book even if I was slightly confused in some areas. I love this trilogy has the perfect mix of humor and sexiness. I loved all the characters and how the story ended. There was a brief on what happens to the characters which really makes a great ending with no loose ends. I think of all the books in this trilogy my favorite was the second book. When it comes to which guy I like most i guess I'm team Keith. Adrian was my second favorite guy and Dalton was my least favorite. There was just something about Dalton I didn't like. Overall I loved this book and I highly recommend you lovely readers to check out this trilogy!

I pulled the cord to shut the curtains, then slipped off my bra and walked over to the bathroom.
He met me at the door, a towel slung around his waist.
Kissing my neck, he said, “Don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. I want to make you come tonight. Many times.”
“It’s been a long day.” I looked over at the tub, which was the size of a multi-person jacuzzi. Dalton had turned the water on and it was filling via multiple spouts. “Let’s pace ourselves,” I said.
As the tub filled, I carefully removed my beautiful new watch and set it on the counter.
I climbed into the hot, welcoming bath, and soon we were bobbing around in sudsy, fragrant hot water. (Okay, one of us was “bobbing” a little more than the other, and I do mean my peaches.)
I’d never been in such a fancy hotel room before, and I wouldn’t have been surprised to learn Presidents had stayed in that suite. The bathroom alone was bigger than should be legally allowed, on account of spoiling people forever. After a night there, how could I ever go back to my own hovel of a bathroom? With the sink and the tub and the toilet all sharing the same room? (This fancy bathroom had a separate enclosed space for the potty, in case you’re wondering, and, yes, there was a bidet, too.)
We took our time soaking in the tub, playing footsies and making eyes at each other from opposite sides of the tub.
“Does this hot tub remind you of anything?” Dalton asked.
“Do you mean the time we almost got shot by some crazy guy with a shotgun?”
“That was a good day.” He took a breath and disappeared down into the water. His hands pulled my knees apart, and he dove at my pussy with such speed, I practically screamed, but it turned into a sigh when he just gave me a gentle, underwater lick.
He surfaced in front of me, wiped the water from his eyes, and kissed me.
It had been too long since I’d felt his lips on mine, but now that we were kissing, the time and distance disappeared.

He laughed. “A tub, but close enough.”
“And look at us now, in this fancy-schmancy hotel bathroom. It’s a good thing one of us has talent and good looks, and the other is great at playing a vampire.”
His eyes flew open in mock anger. “Someone’s going to pay for that horrible joke.”

His voice deep and thick, he said, “Keep going.”
I opened my mouth to say something lippy about me doing his job for him, but the expression on his face was so serious. I slid down further, curving my spine to a comfortable shape. Self-conscious of how much I was hunching, I rolled my shoulders back and adjusted my position so my arm wasn’t squashing my right breast in half, but angled underneath. That small change, however, put my hand in an awkward position.
Dalton must have sensed this, because he said, “Don’t worry about a performance. I don’t want porn. I want to see the truth. Do you trust me enough to show me your true beauty?”
“I don’t know. Can you kiss me some more?”
“Yes,” he breathed, and he moved in close again, licking and sucking my lips, then kissing me as we shared one breath, back and forth.

My Thoughts:

Elizabeth was running for her life when she was caught in a storm that caused the accident that . When James finds a random passerby on his property he was angry but getting to know this strange women caused him to enjoy her company. They both are stuck in a mystery were they don't know her identity but until the storm stops they will have to carry on. When a friend of his reveals who she is James does what he feels is best and sends her back. James decide was rash and now he's beginning to question if sending her back was really the right choice.

I loved this book more then I thought I would. Once I've started it I couldn't put it down. There was loads of suspense,  twists and turns. Never a dull moment. I loved all the characters but my favorite was Rabbit. It was interested seeing how she developed, I admired the amount of strength she had. I loved this beautiful romance and believe you readers will too!

Melanie Moreland lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her husband and fur children. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.

Known as the quiet one with the big laugh, Melanie works for the sporting teams of a local university. Her (box) office job, while demanding, is rewarding as she cheers on her team to victory.
