Review : Wish For You

Wish for You by Marquita Valentine

(Boys of the South #4)
Genre : Contemporary Romance
Age Group : New Adult
Goodreads : Link
Release Date:  January 20, 2014

From New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Marquita Valentine, comes the 4th book in her new adult series, BOYS OF THE SOUTH.

There's only one place in the world Lacey Evans feels normal- the roller derby track. When she laces up her skates and fastens her helmet, she's powerful and in charge. She knows exactly what to do and what to say. The rules are clear and penalties are enforced for those who don't follow them. But in the read world, she's far from powerful and in charge. She never knows exactly what to do and say. For years, she counted on one person to be exactly who he said he was--her best friend, Wyatt Tanaka. Only she changed the rules on him, without any warning, and now she's the one being punished.

Marine veteran, Wyatt Tanaka, came home to a heroes welcome. But he's hiding a secret, one that could potential destroy his life. He's doing the best he can, trying to cope with the guilt and the pain of the girl he loves pushing him away by doing all the things he'd sworn not too. Women, bars, drugs and drinking are what consume him. With Lacey's new rules, he has nothing to hold on to. Nothing to keep in from feeling dead.

Then one night, he goes too far, gets in too deep, and when the truth comes out... will Lacey keep pushing him away or help save him?

My Thoughts:

"Be brave, be Strong, and have faith."
Lacey has been prone to panic attacks since a very young age and its always been brushed off that she'll grow out of it but hasn't. So day to day she goes on a routine to make life comfortable and this routine is shaken when she find out that her parents are going on a mission to Turkey and can't bring her along. Now she must find a new normal and a place to stay. When her best friend Wyatts offers her a place to stay she's happy about it but worried that he doesnt understand that extent of her attacks.

Wyatt has PTSD after seeing the death of his friend when he was in the army. Now he drowns himself in booze, drugs and women. Lacey doesnt know the extend of his lifestyle but when she needs a place to stay he offers her to stay with him. Wyatt has always wanted Lacey but with her constantly reminding them they are friends he struggles to stay away. While she lives there he has to learn to curb his feelings and hidden lifestyle.

I just loved this book. I knew the characteristics of Lacey were to familiar because in ways I see it in myself everyday. It's rare that I come across book that has the same diagnosis that Lacey had. (Not even sure If I should say what it is because I don't want to spoil the book.) When I see it in books I really makes me happy. I loved this book, the characters were interesting. I loved that this book have Wyatt's and Lacey's POV. It helped me understand and enjoy their characters more. There was never a dull moment and this book was well-written. Overall I loved this story it worth 5 of 5 stars!

Can't wait for this book to come out, I would really love a physical copy of this book. Until then I'll be sure to check out the previous books.

"We all have our battles to fight, internal and external. None of them look the same, and they all feel make us feel like we're pathetic losers or freaks."

Review : Fast Forward

Fast Forward by Marion Croslydon

New Adult Contemporary Romance No Cliffhanger, HEA
From the Amazon bestselling author of No Reverse comes a moving story about love, redemption and what happens when life switches to fast forward.

Cassie learned the hard way: Love forgives… in the end.

In No Reverse, Josh and Cassie’s epic love story went from the brink of destruction to a fragile new beginning. Now they must mend their broken family and win back the son they gave up five years ago.

But second chances need to be earned and the road ahead is rocky. With Cassie on tour and Josh trying his hand at a political career, the struggle becomes clear. When the adoption takes a bad turn, Cassie and Josh are prepared to give up everything for the fight of their lives.

Will this young family finally heal the years of heartache, or will they be torn apart for good?

There is no cliffhanger.

_____

My Thoughts:

No relationship is perfect. Josh and Cassie are finally getting everything they want: Cassie was able to get on tour, Josh is working on politics and they are in the process of adopting Luke. When a tragedy strikes the process is of adoption is speeding up. One after another things start getting in their way and old pasts are getting trudged back up possibly ruining their chances of getting Luke. Will they be able to handle what comes their way?

I loved this book, there was so much drama, twists and turns to keep the readers guessing. I loved the characters and how this book turned out. I don't want to repeat the same thing I did for the last review on No Reverse so this review will be shorter. Trust me when I say No Reverse and Fast Forward should be on your TBR list. I highly recommend you lovely readers to check out this book. I can't wait to see what happens I was curious to see what was up with Lenor and Zach and I'm also curious about Sam so I'll be sure to keep my eye on this author.

No Reverse By Marion Croslydon

Second Chances, Book #1
A girl who needs to undo the past.
A boy who wants to forget it.
In love, there’s no way back.

At high school in Steep Hill, Kansas, Cassie O’Malley and Josh MacBride were the poster couple for quarterback/cheerleader romance until they starred in their own tale of teen pregnancy. No need to say: their shotgun wedding was low-key. But when there was no baby anymore, they went their separate ways.

Five years later, Josh has breezed through Georgetown and is about to finish his post-grad degree at Oxford University. He is set to join a lobbying group on Capitol Hill, owned by his new fiancĂ©e’s father. For Josh, the sky is now the limit… only he must first take care of a tiny legal matter: technically, he’s still married to the girl who broke his heart.

Meanwhile, Cassie has been waiting tables in Steep Hill to pay for her sick grandmother’s care. On the day of the old lady’s funeral, Cassie is served with two sets of papers. Josh is asking for a divorce. Her heart squeezes, but, well, he moved on a long time ago. But the second envelope shakes Cassie to the core. So, for the first time, she leaves Kansas and heads to good ol’ England.

There, Cassie finds that Josh has not just “moved on,” he’s freakin’ engaged to some blue-blooded heiress. The feelings Cassie had buried deep rush back to her. But no matter if he keeps thrusting the divorce papers under her nose, she needs him to save the only person she loves more than Josh, more than life itself…

_____

My Thoughts:

Cassie knew when she got pregnant at a very young age things would be tough but would be able to make things ok with her boyfriend Josh. There was many factors why she decided to give Josh up but when she found out that he got accepted to a college and knew he would give it up to be with her she didn't want that. To let him go off to do better things she told him that she had an abortion to make it easier for him to go.

Couple years later Cassie is served some divorce papers at the worst possible time. Rather then filling it out and sending it back, she wanted to reveal a secret that she kept from him: she had a boy and the kid was adopted. In order to get her boy back she must convince Josh that they should play happy family so social services can give her back her child. Whats the worse that can happen?

I loved how unique and original this book was. Cassie was so selfless. I loved how she wasn't selfish and put others before her. While I was reading this book I couldn't believe how crazy she was to think her plan would work. I loved that there was two point of views, it helped me understand and love the characters even more because I can get why they did what they did. I thought the characters were interesting. I am really looking forwards to seeing what happens in the next book : Fast Forward. Overall is was a unique and interesting story and I highly recommend you lovely readers check this book out.
Marion loves to share happy vibes, talk book crush, fictional boyfriends and sexual chemistry with like-minded people. And because she spends most of her days on her own deep inside her writing cave, you are welcome to come and say “hello” from time to time. Just to make sure she doesn't sink into insanity. Her friends, family and arch-enemies (there are quite a few) will be forever grateful for your help.

Hadley Arrington is the career-driven editor-in-chief of her university’s prestigious newspaper. Jack Diamond is a laidback student whose good looks have made things even easier than they need to be. She’s the girl who came out of nowhere and kissed him in the rain. He’s the boy who made her do something crazy.

When the stakes seem too high, they have to decide if they’ll let their love show or if they’ll walk away for good.

My Thoughts:

Hadley is a girl who knows what she wants and wont let anything get in her way to being a combat journalist. When she randomly comes across Jack she decides to take up on her best friend dare to kiss someone random. Upon seeing each other again Hadley proposes some rules to Jake to become friends with benefits. She really has no time for dating and isnt interested in love. But thing don't end up the way she expects.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved how goal driven Hadley. She's stubborn and  would never let anything get into her way especially love. I really liked how she pretty much had everything figured out. Many people her age are still trying to figure out who they are and what they. I thought it was interesting to see what she went through and I just loved the ending thought it worked out perfectly. I loved how loyal she was as a friend trying to stick up for her friend and doing what she thought would help. I loved the connection she had Jack. I loved all the characters, the story was interesting and well written. This book deserves a 5 of 5 stars!
