Her life was right on track

Until her past came knocking…

Nothing ever rattles school principal Valerie Wilmington…until the child she gave up a decade ago, and allowed her mother to raise, now becomes her responsibility. Valerie wants desperately to be a good mom but struggles to connect with the daughter she barely knows. She finds solace in the contractor and single dad hired to renovate her school, Wade Griffin. As their children become fast friends, Wade helps Valerie navigate her new family’s first Christmas. But Wade’s been lied to before, and Valerie’s secret will change everything…

Everything is finally where it should be when it comes to principal Valerie Wilmington and now her world's about to be shaken up by her mother dropping off a child she had 10 years ago. Now she has to learn what it is to be a single mother but also learning to connect with her daughter that she passed off as her sister for so long. On top of that she's dealing with some construction issues when it comes to her school Wade Griffin is there to help and their children become best friends. As they work together and their children hang out there is an undeniable connection between the two.

I will say this book was a breath of fresh air when it comes to a romance that isn't steamy I just loved watching the connection between the two and kept hoping for the best the more I got to know the two. Valerie was trying to get past a mistake she made in the past and it was coming to bite her in the butt and while she wanted to let people know while her daughter was there an intern kind of impacted her relationship at least. Like the more you get to know the two and seeing how they got together it was clear this was going to be an issue so I was curious when the Secrets would come out and how much of an impact it would make. I love that they had such a detailed backstory that it was easy to connect to them and really want the best for them so you really can't help but want to root for the two. As for the Christmas spirit there was a little bit of it so if you're not like bam Christmas in your face this is a good book takes place during Christmas but it isn't over the top it does have for like a little Nativity scene but not much else. So this would be a good time to check out this book overall I really enjoyed it.

A wildfire threat…

becomes a missing person search.

A serial arsonist is out for revenge in the Canadian Rocky Mountains—and kidnaps park warden Hazel Hoyt’s son and his camping troop. Now Hazel must team up with the man who broke her heart, firefighter Mitchell Booth, to find the missing boys as wildfires blaze around them. But someone has no intention of letting the pair get off the mountain alive…
A serial arsonist is looking for revenge against Hazel and her family. When Hazel finds out her son and his Championship friends are missing possibly kidnapped in the middle of the forest she will do everything she can to find him. Especially since there are so many elements that could get the boys as well as the serial arsonist she will work together with Mitchell a firefighter who will do everything we can to help Hazel find the boys.

Whew this book jumps right into the middle of the action. From the moment the book starts readers will be hooked by the massive of amounts of things that happen it was barely a minute to rest. I enjoyed following along I say follow the bread crumbs to finding the boys and figuring out how to deal with their faith that was really being tested throughout the book. I like that while there was interest between Hazel and Mitchell it really didn't do much in this book I mean there is no time for Romance time is of the essence with this book. I thought it was interested in the family dynamic and the issues people had with Hazel's father he really was something else. Overall I really enjoyed this action packed book it really will leave you hooked.

Sabotage in the mountains…

After surviving a sudden avalanche, mountain survival expert Jayla Hoyt and her search-and-rescue K-9 discover that it was no accident—someone deliberately triggered the mountain explosion. To uncover the culprit, she’ll have to partner with Alaska park ranger Bryson Clarke, a man she doesn’t trust. But when the investigators become targets, can they capture the criminal mastermind…before they’re buried alive?
Jayla Hoyt is a mountain survival expert who has a search and rescue K-9. When an avalanche occurs leading to her friend going missing possibly dead she does everything she can to find out who is behind the Avalanche that was no accident. She works with Alaskan park ranger Bryson Clarke to figure out who is behind this and try to stay to stay alive since clearly someone doesn't want them further into these explosion/avalanches.

I really enjoyed this book there was so much going on. I love getting to know these characters and seeing how they work together to solve what was going on. Clearly someone didn't want them to look into it so there was a few attempts at their lives or at least to other people that they care about. I love seeing how the more dire the danger scenes come out as closer as they was getting to figuring out who was to find this and why. I love that while there was a bit of romance this book remain clean. This was over all a really good book, I really enjoyed it if you like mystery suspense kind of novels you'll really enjoy this one.

Caught in a killer’s sights…

Introducing the True Blue K-9 Unit series

After K-9 unit administrative assistant Sophie Walters spots a suspicious stranger lurking at the K-9 graduation, the man kidnaps her—and she barely escapes. With Sophie’s boss missing and someone determined to silence her, NYPD officer Luke Hathaway vows he and his K-9 partner will guard her. But he must keep an emotional distance to ensure this mission ends in justice…not cold-blooded murder.

Sophie spotted a stranger person lurking where he wasn't supposed to and ends up getting kidnapped. Thankfully she managed to get away but now she knows that he boss is mission and will do anything she can to make sure hes okay. But the deeper they go into finding the person the more they notice shes in danger with a couple close attempts NYPD officer Luke and his k-9 partner will do everything they can to make sure that she is safe.

I seems that anyone Sophie cares for is truly lucky she will do everything she can to make sure they are safe and cared for. That goes for her boss even after her kidnapping attempt where she wanted to do everything she can to make sure others know her boss was missing. You can just see that she was a genuine loyal character which I really loved about her character. As for the mystery suspense aspect I liked how it was handled, I wanted to know who was behind everything, why he wanted to get hold of her so much and why this was even happening. I liked the romance it was a nice little touch wasn't overpowering the book which I appreciate, I mean shes getting a few attempts at her life its no time for romance when a killer seems to be after her. Overall it was a really good book I really enjoyed it.

Review : John's Love

John's Love by J.J. Valentine

Genre: Contemporary, Romance, Young Adult, Christian,

Pages: 89

One thousand years have passed in the heavens, marking the beginning of the Trial period. For every one thousand years, two soul mates are chosen to be reborn in order to test their love and faith through the trials and tribulations of life’s false reality.

John and Sarah are chosen.

The rebirth of soul mates is to go as planned: not a single soul shall remember the other until fate, inevitably, pulls them together. But from the sound of Sarah’s laughter, as John walks past her one day after school, fate is suddenly placed into his hands, as his love for her is so strong it breaks all laws and reminds him of whom she is.

So I just found out that my cousin wrote a book and didn't say a word about it and decided to see first had if its good.

Basicly John and Sarah are soulmates that are sent down back on earth to test their love and faith. As humans they are to find one another and continue the love they had in past lives without even knowing it. Thing is John remembers the past and as her goes through life his faith and the love they have is tested.

First of all it started too quickly, it was pretty rushed in the beginning. I'm not a fan of love at first sight kinda stories. But being that this is a novella I guess things much go on at a faster pace so its fine. When it comes to this book only the main brief points in their lives only really show. When it came to the main parts it would've been nice if it slowed down a bit, get to know more about the characters. See more of why they love each other rather then that insta love thing. I found it hard to accept they loved eachother because I didn't see much going on between them. I wished I got to know more about the two main characters in general, about their lives to make them more likeable the book just kind of skims the surface with the two. I did love the fact that there was multiple point of views and side notes in the book to make it more interesting. If your a Christian you'll love this book, its all about love and faith. I'm not Christian, so wasn't much of a fan of that aspect because it was a very large part of the book was on faith but I'm not one to give up a book solely on that.I think the story line was pretty good and I did end up enjoyed this book.

Donna VanLiere, New York Times bestselling author of the timeless The Christmas Shoes and The Christmas Hope, is back with this moving and uplifting story about finding love, hope, and family in unexpected places.

Lauren Gabriel spent many years of her childhood in foster homes, wishing her mother would come back for her and be the family she needs. Now twenty-years-old, she still longs for a place that she can truly call home. Her work as a cashier is unfulfilling, and at Christmas it’s unbearable with the songs and carols and chatter of Christmas that she hears throughout the day.

When Lauren ends her shift one night, she finds herself driving aimlessly in order to avoid returning to her lonely apartment. And when she witnesses a car accident she is suddenly pulled into the small town of Grandon, first as a witness but then as a volunteer for the annual fundraiser for Glory’s Place, a center for single mothers and families who need assistance. Could this town and its people be the home she has always longed for?

Lauren is looking for a family for the holidays, maybe even somewhere to call home. After a while of being an Foster homes shes looking for the warm feelings. When she witnesses accident and helps to bring the suspect, she managed to meet the lovely people of Grandon and gets sucked into their holiday cheer.

If you are looking for a holiday read that heartwarming look no further. Normally I find myself drawn more to holiday romances that enough warm up the coldest of hearts but this book didn't need it. I loved the sense of community in this down, I loved seeing Lauren slowly get sucked up by this town and the loving towns people. I loved the aspect of Brandon doing those notes it is such a sweet idea. I love getting to know the characters. I thought that this was a really sweet book and I loved having the chance to read it. Overall this was a great book and I recommend if you are looking for a great holiday book you'll want to check this book out!
