Jolene while her mother did her best everyone else seems to want to bring her down with being bullied and harassed by others. Then when she was able to with the encouragement of her mother she set off to LA where she can do what she does best hair and makeup. Then when she finds out that her mother could have cancer she jets back home in support of her mother. The last thing she expected was to see Aiden a guy she had a thing with in the past. Aiden who is back from the marines now newly appointed as the police chief and it seems old feelings haven't gone away.

I loved a good second chances at love. Gives people times to grow and better themselves to the point where they can truly be an authentic version of themselves. I enjoyed seeing the romance between Aiden an d Jolene. I loved how caring and supportive Jolene was towards her mother, you can really see that bond, there's also that bond they have with the Gilmore girls which was pretty entertaining throwing in random moments of similarities. I'm a fan of Gilmore girls and I appreciated the references. I loved the small town feel and loved seeing everyone do their part in helping one another out. I enjoyed seeing Aiden's POV in him working on a case to help an abused women and finding an unstable man that's on the run. With all that, there was also the holiday cheer that could be found in this book making it a perfect time to read this enjoyable book.
