A bride becomes a target in New York Times bestselling author B.J. Daniels’s latest can’t-miss suspenseTragedy sent Deidre “Drey” Hunter running from rancher Hawk Cahill and into the arms of a sleek businessman who promised her a new life. But dreams of Manhattan days and cosmopolitan nights shatter when he brings her back to an ultramodern paradise in her hometown of Gilt Edge—and vanishes on their wedding night.
Taunted by seclusion and silence, Drey starts to doubt everything…including her sanity. Only Hawk, the stubborn cowboy from her school days, believes the threats are real and that someone is ready to kill. But is he willing to forgive the past if it means ending her nightmare?
Dreys husband goes missing the night of their wedding and was told the news that she'd be living closer to her hometown rather then New York like the she led to believe to her dismay. Shes got a bad feeling about this home and on top of that her husbands brother seems like he might be here for a while and shes not comfortable with this situation. She seems to sense something is wrong and the longer shes there shes questioning things like her sanity and might need her ex boyfriend Hawk to help her out.
I really enjoyed this book there was just so much going on. But the thing is there is a mini story within this book that does nothing for the main story that is going on and becomes a sort of distraction since it really doesn't really have a connection to the MC's of the story. I think the author should just make that story as what it is a side story not alternating that way the readers can concentrate on what is presently going on.
Other then that I loved the storyline and the mystery that was going on. I loved seeing the connections the further I got into the book. I thought it was interesting getting to know Drey's POV her questioning her sanity as strange and unusual things occur thought out the book. I loved how protective Hawk was even if they were no longer together and she was married he didn't have to help her the way that he did. I thought it was interesting getting to see their story and why they were not together anymore. Overall it was a pretty great book I really enjoyed it.
