When June Leavy finds two puppies abandoned outside during a storm, she immediately feels a bond with the adorable animals. Swindled out of her life savings by her no-good ex, she, too, was left with nothing but heartache and struggles of her own. But when she arrives at the local veterinary clinic, June is met by dangerously handsome Dr. Ethan Singh, whose sexy smile threatens to disarm her hard-won emotional strength.

Back in Peach Leaf, Texas, to recover from an ugly breakup, Ethan gently tends to the puppies and their charming caretaker. But as the storm rages, so does the electric attraction between Ethan and June. Is this real, or a cruel phantom of lost love? Stranded alone at the clinic, only one thing is certain: they've got all night to figure it out…

June was finishing off work during a storm when she finds two abandoned puppies. On a mission to help the animals she rushes over to the local vet whose known for staying over time to help when needed. Little did she know his son was there temporarily taking over and he was willing to aid her and the abandoned puppies. As they care and find a new home for the puppies their eyes are set on each other.

This book is about heartbreak and finding love at unexpected times. If i had to sum up this book it would be heartwarming, sweet, light and enjoyable. If you are looking for a bit of romance in a short amount of time this book would be good as well for a small escape. I liked the characters and getting to know how they ended up where they are at. I enjoyed the endings, there was no loose ends if you are worried about that. I would recommend you read this book but the only thing I would say is read this during the winter. Partly because thats the settings of the story and I'm the type of person who likes to connect to the books in the way. Not sure if anyone else is like that but this was an enjoyable book and I recommend you check it out.
