Review:
Gracie managed to get out of an abusive relationship with the help of her best friend and boyfriend Jake. Gracie is broken and needs to learn to get past what she went through. Jake and many other people will play a part in healing Gracie. When a surprising reveal happens will is ruin Gracies progress? Will she able to get past it?

Three words that describe this book : Intense, Emotional and Uplifting.

Just fantastic. Loads of drama, its hard to put this down when there is so much going on. I loved watching Gracie grow and develop. I loved watching her slowly get out of her shell rather then withering like the last book. But not everything is perfect in this book you can really see her ups and downs and her working on getting through everything. It was pretty hard watching her and her last relationship with Noah in the first book and I found her annoying but this book completely changed my mind. I just loved this book. I loved how understanding and caring Jake was. He was so supportive through all of her choices and did everything he could to make her life better. I loved all the characters and how supportive and understanding the friends were. I loved the overall story, it was well-written. This book had me hooked from the very start and I had a hard time putting the book down.

By the way I love how the author put a playlist for the book, each song has played its part in this book and I hope you'll take the time to listen to the music. Took me a while to set up to put as a widget.

Highly recommend! 5 of 5 Stars!

Synopsis:

Long- Gracie has just finished her freshman year of college in Memphis when she takes a job at a local pizza joint in her home town of McKenzie, Tennessee. She is the epitome of innocence when she meets Noah. Noah is unabashedly handsome, intriguingly reckless and just cocky enough to be sexy. Gracie’s instincts tell her to stay far away from him and based on the stories she hears from her co-workers he leaves broken hearts in his wake. But still, she can’t explain her fascination with him.

Noah puts aside his bad boy ways when what he thought was a summer crush has him unexpectedly falling in love. But soon after Gracie transfers to UT Knoxville to be with Noah, their unexpected love becomes riddled with anger, deceit and humiliation.

Jake, Noah’s former roommate and Gracie’s best friend, can no longer be a bystander. Gracie’s world falls out from beneath her and when she breaks she turns to Jake for strength. As Jake talks her through a decision she’s not yet strong enough to make, together they uncover a truth so ugly neither of them
is prepared for its fallout. Will Jake pull her to the surface or is Gracie Jordan finally In Too Deep?

My Thoughts:
When I was first reading this book I just wanted to throw the book.

I thought Gracie was completely stupid and she need to learn when to stop, when her relationship was turning for the worse. I just wanted to smack some sense into her. I almost stopped reading after a while reading this train wreck of a girl. She reminds me so much of my best friend who goes through these situations all the time. I end up listening to her blather on about the same ol stuff and not change. I think my best friend should check out this book because even if most of the book was Gracie is going downhill she learns and has a supportive friend to help her see clearly with no judgement. Eventually she learns from the past and better herself.

I really loved her friend Jake he was my favorite character. He was kind, loving, caring, non-judgmental and understanding. Even as he saw her come back and forth to him after something happening with Noah he was always there to give her comfort. I can only hope someone like Jake in the future.

Ok so what I should probably point out when I have a strong reaction to a book (Like this) it doesn't necessarily mean its bad. Cause after a month after I've written this review I noticed that maybe I wasn't coming out right? IDK maybe what I wrote sounds rude just in my head. I'm not at all great with words but I try to be.

Overall I loved the book and there is a lot to keep the readers hooked. Highly Recommend

Michelle Kemper Brownlow has been a storyteller her entire life. Her debut was on the high school cheerleading bus granting requests to re-tell her most embarrassing moments for a gaggle of hysterical squadmates.

Earning her Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in Art Education and then marrying her very own “Jake,” she moved to Binghamton, NY where she taught high school. After having two children she quit work and finished her Master’s degree in Elementary Education at Binghamton University.

The Brownlow family of four moved to Michelle’s hometown of Morgantown, PA while the children were still quite young. A few years after moving, her family grew by one when they welcomed a baby into their home through the gift of adoption. The family still resides in PA, just miles from where that high school cheer bus was parked.

Michelle has been an artist for as long as she can remember, always choosing pencils and crayons over toys and puzzles. As a freelance illustrator, her simple characters play the starring roles in numerous emergent reader books published by Reading Reading Books.

“Writing is my way of making sense of the world. When I give my characters life on the pages I write, it frees up space in my mind to welcome in new stories that are begging to be told,” says Brownlow.
