Darby is on the run on her wedding night after finding out that she is pregnant with the child of her abusive soon to be husband. Refusing to let that man hurt her any more she decides to make a break for it, if not for herself then for her child to get a better life. Thats when she lands at Colorado Springs Hotel where she starts her new life at. Trex is a former Marine no FBI agent working on a security job at Cheyenne Moutain Complex that's keeping things quiet.  When he meets Darby its like meeting his soul mate but he has to keep his job secret from her which isn't good for a person with trust issues. Upon learning her past and why she ran he will do everything he can to protect her and her child.

This was my first impression on reading a book by Jamie McGuire, my best friend has read books by her before and I just hadn't gotten around to it. But with how this book turned out I'll be sure to get ahold of the other books because this was such a great well written book that hooked me to the very end. Now that I'm thinking about it I should send my copy of this book to her, wait never mind I'll never get back. I'll have to buy her a copy because this book is worth it and she's gonna love it. I loved the characters and seeing Darby finally stand up for herself and her baby. She was going to try to make it on her own and it was nice to see. I loved how protective Trex was but I just wanted him to at least let her in a bit of his secret before it came to bite him in the butt. Overall this was a pretty great book though i really enjoyed it!
