What inspire you to write this novel?
Infernal
Ice was born of a short story that I initially wrote a few years ago
for the 1NS series by Decadent Publishing. As I outlined the short, I
kept on getting more and more ideas until I was completely outside of
all the submission requirements. Once I outlined Raum Corvus’
character, there was no way this short would see the light of day.
Raum Corvus' devilish good looks, charm, wit, and courage swept me
off my feet. I knew, from that moment, in order to do him justice as
well as his love for Jessa- Belle (the heroine of Infernal Ice) only
a novel would do. So I wrote the first draft, edited and revised it
until I was teary when I wrote the very last sentence. ..(Yes, I
know... I’m so mushy)
The
next bump in the road was I no longer liked the original title ( Styx
and Stones). I played around with the story elements long enough
until I got a title I felt was the right fit and of course, I was
happy with.
The
cover is the work of Kim Killion and it captures every aspect of the
novel: my city, the love story and the characters.
There
you have it ....

Aimee’s wedding is supposed to turn out perfect. Her dress, her fiancé and the location—the idyllic holiday ranch in Brazil—are perfect.
But all Aimee’s plans come crashing down when the private jet that’s taking her from the U.S. to the ranch—where her fiancé awaits her—defects mid-flight and the pilot is forced to perform an emergency landing in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
With no way to reach civilisation, being rescued is Aimee and Tristan’s—the pilot—only hope. A slim one that slowly withers away, desperation taking its place. Because death wanders in the jungle under many forms: starvation, diseases. Beasts.
As Aimee and Tristan fight to find ways to survive, they grow closer. Together they discover that facing old, inner agonies carved by painful pasts takes just as much courage, if not even more, than facing the rainforest.

Despite her devotion to her fiancé, Aimee can’t hide her feelings for Tristan—the man for whom she’s slowly becoming everything. You can hide many things in the rainforest. But not lies. Or love.
Withering Hope is the story of a man who desperately needs forgiveness and the woman who brings him hope. It is a story in which hope births wings and blooms into a love that is as beautiful and intense as it is forbidden.

Wow, I enjoyed this book more then I thought I would. I actually didn't know what to expect since I didn't even see the description or pay attention to the cover which I rather like. It was the author name that looked familiar probably helped out with a promotion on some tour. Regardless I took and chance and checked out this book. It was fantastic I loved the characters and the dual point of views. I loved watching the drama of being in the wild unfold. I loved watching the romance between the two. Oh and that ending, way to crush the readers heart multiple times over because when I though it was over there was a little more then a little bit more. Overall a great, unique and interesting book and I recommend you lovely readers to check it out.
My name is Layla Hagen and I am a New Adult Contemporary Romance author.
I fell in love with books when I was nine years old, and my love affair with stories continues even now, many years later.
I write romantic stories and can’t wait to share them with the world.
And I drink coffee. Lots of it, in case the photo didn’t make it obvious enough
