Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.
So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. They follow legends and local lore, destroy the murderous dead, and keep pesky things like the future and friends at bay.
Searching for a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas expects the usual: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.
Yet she spares Cas's life.
Review :
Not long after the death of his father Cas took up his fathers legacy of slaying whats let of the Ghosts that kill people. What Cas didn't say was that he was really practicing for the day he comes face to face with the spirit who killed his father. Until that day comes he will come against a towns local ghost Anna dressed in blood. He gets a little more then he bargained for when he meets Anna and the town's residents.I loved how unique, fun, and interesting this book was. I've heard many raving reviews on this book so I just had to have it. Only thing was that it was sitting on my bookshelves for I don't know how long not read yet. A couple of days ago I decided to give this book a try and I'm so glad that I did, with how fantastic this book was I'm surprised that I hadn't read it sooner. I don't come across much books that have just the male point of view so that was interesting. Then there was so much going on, I liked that the mother was understanding of what Cas had to do with the whole ghost hunting thing even if it was dangerous. I thought it was interesting getting the back story of Anna it made her character more appealing. I loved that there was so much going on and that it was a bit graphic with made it easy to picture although the pictures were quite gruesome. I'm into the horror thing so it didn't bother me, if your a bit squeamish count this as being warned. I urge you readers to check out this great book you won't be disappointed! 5 of 5 stars
