Ellie Parker is a master at building walls around her heart. In the twenty-five years she’s been alive, Dex Remington has been the only person who has always believed in her and been there for her. But four years earlier she came to Dex seeking comfort, and then disappeared like a thief in the night, leaving him a broken man.

Dex Remington is one of the top PC game developers in the U.S. He’s handsome, smart, and numb. So damn numb that he’s not sure he’ll ever find a reason to feel again.

A chance encounter sparks intense desires in Ellie and Dex. Desires that make her want to run—and make him want to feel. A combination of lust and fear leads these young lovers down a dangerous path. Is it possible to cross a burned bridge or are they destined to be apart forever?

My Thoughts

Dex has harden his heart after Ellie left his life. Now Dex is a sucessful game developer doing what he loves with his friends who are apart of his team. Ellie was a child of the foster system who is back in New York to run from her past. Little did she know was that she would run into Dex the man who professed his love for her and the left him after. Both have feelings for each other but Dex has some isecuries that Ellie is going to run from his life again. Meanwhile Ellie is trying to get over her insecurities of being a product of the foster care system and try to keep strong as a guy from her past keeps trying to contact her.

I really enjoyed this book. There was never a dull moment. I liked that the author kept a mystery to the book that was slowly revealed of their past. I enjoyed Ellie's character, I thought she was unique she was just a women trying to get past everything she went though. I liked Dex's friends and Regina I liked how Regina turned how and tried to help Ellie realized shes not her past from foster care. I really loved this book and think you readers should check out this book. 4.5 of 5 stars!
