Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “The Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is exactly the type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

My Thoughts:

"Why couldn't people just give you the benefit of the doubt and assume the best?"

Lorrie lost her parents tragically and is trying to get over it. Its been a year or so and now she thinks she can handle back to school. When Lorrie faces a near death experience, the handsome passerby Hunter manages to save her. Lorrie isn't interested in having a relationship with anyone its already stressful enough with her past and school she just needs to focus and stick to her school work. Lorrie

I did like this book. It just idk seemed predictable in some ways. I thought the backgrounds of the characters were interesting they were unique. What annoyed me about Lorrie was that she seems a bit idk whiny, poor is me kind of character. I hated that she jumped to conclusions and listens to the rumors rather then getting straight to the truth.  Not sure if I'm saying what I want to say right, maybe you others readers who read this book might know what I mean. What I loved about Hunter was that he has brains and brawn. He wasn't just some juiced up MMA meat head with no brains. I loved that towards the end there was Hunters POV so I got to see what was going on on his side but I wish I knew sooner. I liked the little glimpses I had of him. But for the next book I hope to see more of a back and forth between the characters. Maybe its just me I love when books have more then one point of views so I can enjoy the characters more. I thought the overall story was interesting and I look forward to seeing what happens next.
