Spend a white Christmas on Summer Island, where the fires are warm and the romance is hotter

Lila Sloan wonders why she ever thought house-sitting for her sister Meg on the remote Summer Island was a good idea. And to make matters worse, local real estate developer Beck Grainger is trying to cut down the beautiful trees that line the property. Lila can’t let this happen; Meg will never forgive her.

Beck can understand Lila’s anger—sort of. The trees are actually on the neighboring property, and the land was zoned for development months ago, so his plans were no secret. But he dislikes being at odds with his friend’s sister, especially because Lila is appealing in every way: loyal, quick-witted and completely stunning.

Lila hates that she’s so attracted to Beck, who seems like a genuinely good man, despite his tree-murdering tendencies. And their chemistry is off the charts. She just wishes he’d let this development go. As Summer Island counts down to a snowy Christmas, Lila and Beck will have to strike a compromise that seems impossible for them both—or risk losing the best thing either of them has ever had.
Lila is house sitting for her sister licking her wounds while trying to make up for past mistakes shes has with her sister. Figures a land developer would be trying to plow down some trees that are near her sisters land and has ties to some childhood memories. Shes managed to slow down his progress along with the help of the winter weather but as she gets to know the "enemy" Beck she seems to soften to him. She knows she cant let him get too close, he is the guy trying to tear down childhood memories and could jeopardize her sisters inn but finds its hard not to give into that attraction.

I enjoyed this book, I love a good enemies to lovers kinda books. Its clear Lila was running from something and burdens by the guilt of the relationship between her and her sister and I was curious to get to know why and what was going on. Then there was the whole needing to talk about things to get past the past and go on with her life and heal. Then there was Becks side of things I did enjoy getting to know his character as well and his life is so different from Lilas and it was interesting getting to know about his backstory up until how he is now. I loved getting to get both of their point of views and seeing the romance and things do get steamy and I loved how their relationship as from start to end. Then there's the child neighbor for Beck which was pretty cute seeing how thing were for them. The one thing I wasn't into was the extra perspective which didn't do much for me but I'm kind of wondering if its just like a glimpse into a character for the next book after this? Kinda wondering about that. Since this does take place during the holidays I will say it does have some christmas spirit with some of the events and things that are done which I loved and will say that this is the perfect time to be picking up this book. Overall great book I really enjoyed it.
