Review : Hearts at Seaside

Heart at Seaside by Addison Cole

Listening Time: 7 hours and 46 minutes
Jenna Ward is vivacious, spontaneous, and confident--except when she's around the man who stole her heart years earlier, strikingly handsome, quiet, and reliable Pete Lacroux. After years of trying to get his attention and overwhelmed from dealing with her mother's new cougar lifestyle, Jenna's giving up on Peter--and is ready to explore other men.

As the eldest of five siblings, with an alcoholic father to care for, boat craftsman Pete Lacroux always does the right thing and has no time for a real relationship. He's looking forward to seeing his friend Jenna, a welcome distraction who's so sexy and painfully shy that she equally entertains and confuses him.

When Jenna picks up a hard-bodied construction worker, jealousy ignites Pete's true feelings, and he's unable to ignore the desires for Jenna he never realized he had. But Pete's not the quiet guy he appears to be, and his life is anything but conducive to a relationship. Can Jenna handle the real Pete Lacroux--the most alpha male she's ever seen--or will she crack under pressure? And can Pete reclaim the life he once had without tearing apart his family?

Sweet with Heat books are the sweet editions of the Love in Bloom steamy romance novels by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster. Sweet with Heat books convey all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

Jenna had her eyes set on Peter for a while but no hint on whether or not they are going to take their relationship to the next level. So she does something she  wouldn't normally do, strike up a conversation with a random dude and scores a date. Now it seems Peter after seeing Jenna reel in some guy, he's having a hard time keeping the feelings he had for her inside.

So this is my second time reading this book and its I still found this book just as enjoyable. Plus is a great summer read so yay for that. The only difference between last year and this year is that I got a chance to listen to this book read out by Melissa Moran. This was audiobook was a better experience for me since I've been swamped with things to do and getting the audiobook was really super convient being able to listen to this at any point.

I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I really loved the fact that it wasn't love at first sight with these two like so many books out there. I loved that as friends they were able to learn about eachother quirks and learn more about eachother more then they ever had as they get closer with one other. I liked that this book toed the edge of getting steamy without getting in depth. I loved getting to know these characters and getting to see thier family life. It was tough seeing what Peter was dealing with when it came to his father and how selfless and supportive he was. He didn't have to be the one to take care of his father but he was that much of a great son.

Overall this was a pretty great book and definitely worth the reread and if you are looking for a great book to listen to while your out on the beach you might want to consider listening to this book.
