Carrie knew she should not use the terrifying power she possessed... But one night at her senior prom, Carrie was scorned and humiliated just one time too many, and in a fit of uncontrollable fury she turned her clandestine game into a weapon of horror and destruction.
I've watched the movie dozens of times and watched the new one fairly recently (wasn't a fan of that one) and didn't even stop to consider the fact that this movie was once a book. Being an avid reader and lover of horror movies I figured I'd better jump on this book now.

So unless you've watched the movie, the review will be a spoiler for you readers just wanted to put that out there. But if you are looking for a good book to read this October then check it out. If you don't mind spoilers this might even spoil the book for you even if you watched the movie but if you don't mind then go fourth and be sure to tell me your thoughts and comments about the book / movie.

I will say that the first movie honestly really did put this book to justice. Its been a couple of months since I've seen it but I really liked that version. I either got to rent the movie out or what for the TV to play it because it's now October and its going to be horror movie galore and I'll be able to seek out this movie quickly. So if you've seen the movie the book the book is just like that, except more details and insight to the character that you otherwise wouldn't have known about unless you read the book. There was minor details changes like for instance the description of Carrie was different from what was depicted in the movie. I can really say that I really liked that back and forth with the characters past and present. One thing I didn't like about the movie was that Carrie seems to be dramatic when it came to her powers meanwhile it shows that she was aware of it at a young age so that dramatics in the movie seem unnecessary. But then again it doesn't go that well into details. Overall this book was pretty good, predictable since I saw the movie but I really loved getting that insight more about it when I was reading this book.

What I also loved was getting that side note a bit of tid bit that I didn't know about this book was that it was slightly based off a real person well persons since there was two people that the author mentioned. I loved getting that little inside of the author and getting to know his mind set while going into this book it was pretty interesting.
