Olivia Bennett is on the tenure track at Cornell University, the resident expert on Southern women writers.

After moving to upstate New York from Atlanta, she falls in love with and purchases an old, run-down farmhouse. The only catch: she know s nothing about renovating a house, taking care of land, or snow .

Joss Bauer is a New York native who grew up in her family’s construction business. She has a soft spot for old houses, but no patience for overpaid debutantes who want to play at country living.

When Olivia hires Joss to do the renovations on her new home, the sparks fly, in more ways than one. It turns out both women have a lot to learn about life, love, and the meaning of home. But when a scandal threatens Olivia’s professional reputation, it puts her priorities and her new found love on the line.

Oliva is making a change and relocating to a charming home not to far from her home. Thing is that she must do some work, so with the help of a contactor Joss they get some work done. Olivia isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and work on the house as well. Joss already made up her mind what type of person Oliva is and isn't about to get her heart broken again by another college professor. But the more they work together the more deeply they fall for each other.

Lately I've been on a mission to come across LGBT books and I managed to come across this book. I've been wanting to branch out of different categories with books and this book was pretty great for it. I loved the relationship between the two. This was nicely paced not a lot of drama but it was a sweet read anyways. I'm so used to the fast paced, drama, packed loaded with suspense and mystery that this was a nice way to just slow down. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right. I hope you understand what I'm saying. The characters were interesting and I loved getting a bit of backstory to the two characters. Overall this was a pretty great story and I really enjoyed it.
