Taken By Surprise

Jacob Baron is shocked to discover he's a father. But he's determined to do right by his son, despite the lack of strong role models in his own life. Jacob's a bull rider, and there's no halfway with him. He'll be the kind of dad his son needs…even if Cody's attractive aunt, Mariana Snow, seems to question his daddy skills at every turn.

Jacob cooks, cleans and has a nice touch with a two-year-old. He also has broad shoulders, gorgeous eyes and a mouth that can only be described as sexy. But Mariana's own part-time, no-good father was a rodeo star. She knows their charms can't be trusted. She's hanging around for Cody's sake, that's all. At least, that's what she keeps telling herself….

Review:

Jacob is a bull rider trying to prove his worth to father and be apart of the company. Things start to change for Jacob when Mariana, aunt to two-year-old Cody, comes to him about a surprise son and about the death of the mother. Mariana is trying to do right by revealing that Jacob has a son even if it goes against her sisters dying wish. Now she's risking the chance that Cody will be taken from her. When she spends some time with Jacob so that Cody can know his father she starts to see him in a new light but refuses to let the past repeat itself so she knows she shouldn't be so trusting.

I enjoyed this book but I'm a bit conflicted with it. The storyline was interesting but everything felt rushed I would elaborate on it but I don't want to spoil book. But then again in a way with how short he book was I can understand why it would be a bit rushed. Even if it was rushed there was never a dull moment, between the drama and the attraction between Jacob and Mariana is enough to keep the readers interested. I loved that there was a point of view for both characters. I liked Mariana's character, she was loving, caring towards Cody but was too much of a control freak but I can understand why while reading the book. Then theres Jacob I really liked his character adapt to the whole being a father thing and learned to put his son before him. Overall this was a pretty good book and I really liked it.
