Tristan has always felt like a ghost. After a painful loss, he became all but invisible to his grieving family. So he dove headfirst into a dangerous life, sinking deeper until he felt he could disappear-and almost did. Though Tristan survived, staying on track is a 24/7 battle he’s not sure he wants to fight.

Then Tristan meets Avery, the girl with purple streaks in her hair and tattoos like secrets, waiting to be uncovered. Her smile is warm and inviting, but her sad, hazel eyes tell a different story. And the strangest part is-she can really see him. A girl like that might just keep Tristan out of the darkness . . . or pull him right back in.

Review :

Even if this novella was short it was enough to have some hope for Tristian. Even though I loved Nova and Quinton together I couldn't help but feel bad for Tristian to not have someone he's close to. Nova was too nice to him and it was easy to see why he would fall for her. Now I can't wait to see more of his story.

Today is the first day of Quinton Carter's new life. The toxic guilt of his past left him in pieces-but one girl unexpectedly put him back together. Thanks to Nova Reed, Quinton can finally see the world with clear eyes. She's the reason his heart is still kicking behind the jagged scar on his chest. And he would love to have her in his arms every minute of the day . . . but he's not ready yet.

Playing drums in a band and living with her best friends are just some of the highlights of Nova's life. But the best new development? Talking to Quinton on the phone each night. She wishes she could touch him, kiss him, though she knows he needs time to heal. Yet shocking news is on the way-a reminder of life's dark side-and Nova will need Quinton like he once needed her. Is he strong enough to take the final leap out of his broken past . . . and into Nova's heart?

Review:

"For everyone who suffered loss and learned how to live again. Know that you're not alone."

Quinton is out of rehab and learning how to piece himself together before he jumps back into how things used to be. That means to stay away from Nova. Nova is back living her life, going to school, band practices but thing start to get a little complicated with Tristan, her roommate starts to flirt with her. Not only that Delilah is missing stressing Nova. She can't help everyone and things start to take a toll, she needs to see and be with Quinton but he needs to fix himself before they can see each other again.

I loved this book it was toned down from the other book with the stresses and bad experiences. it was interesting seeing her and his life where it wasn't too crazy. I enjoyed seeing them find more about themselves, learning how live their life page guilt and grief without the use of drugs. I loved getting to see the healing and love that was going on with Quinton and Nova. Overall I loved this book and Can't wait to see Tristan's story in the next book.

Nova Reed can't forget him-Quinton Carter, the boy with the honey-brown eyes who made her realize she deserved more than an empty life. His pain was so similar to her own. But Nova has been coming to terms with her past and healing, while Quinton is out there somewhere, sinking deeper. She's determined to find him and help him . . . before it's too late.

Nova has haunted his dreams for nearly a year-but Quinton never thought a sweet, kind person like her would care enough about a person like him. To Quinton, a dark, dangerous life is exactly what he deserves. And Nova has no place in it. But Nova has followed him to Las Vegas, and now he must do whatever it takes to keep her away, to maintain his self-imposed punishment for the unforgivable things he's done. But there's one flaw in his plan: Nova isn't going anywhere . . .

Review:

"How do you get through to someone who doesn't want you to get to them? How do you save someone who doesn't want to be save"

Nova finally has gotten she help she needs to straighten out her life. She refuses to go to that dark place again. It if wasn't for Quinton rejecting her, she would've never seen the last video Landon made before his suicide that helped her get past her issues. Now Nova wants to help Quinton, but she hasn't seen him in months. When she gets a lead of where he is she refuses to back down. She refuses to leave until she gets him the help but it could break her but at least she can say she tried.

"Quinton, the beautiful artist, who carries guild on his shoulders, who, even in his darkest times made me smile when no one else could, who showed me a dark world that made me what to see the light again. And I want to make him see the light, too. I just need to find him."

Quinton just needs to forget his life, Nova, Lexi, everyone and everything. Drugs do that for him. Things are starting to go down when money does missing, dealers come around with pipes and Nova comes to find him. Quinton just wants to forget her but shes slowly making her way back into his heart reminding him about the things he desperately wants to forget.

"Sometimes you can't help people no matter how much you want to."

This is a story of drugs, addiction and guilt. If your looking for a sappy love story where everything is sunshine and rainbows don't bother reading this book. This book is dark and intense. I loved how there was never a dull moment and that there was so much going on. The ending was interesting I'm curious of what happens next. After knowing about their pasts from the first book its easy to connect to these characters and be heartbroken to Quinton and Nova. Watching Quinton sink deeper into drugs and how unfortunate his life is getting and seeing how Nova was slowly sinking into that dark place to try to help him. Its hard not get get emotions and feel for these characters.

"I feel like banging my head on the wall, surrounded by a ton of people who need help, but don't want it. And I'm not strong enough to help all of them at once. What am I supposed to do? Keep trying until I break? Walk away and always regret not staying? Because I know that's where this will go."

There is so much to love about this book but nearly impossible to talk about without ruining the book. The closest I can get without ruining the book for you readers is putting up these quotes. You must read the book to know how great it is. If you don't read it you'll be missing out. Highly Recommend! 5 of 5 stars!

"There are so many things I won't but the biggest question I'll always have is if he's okay,"

Nova Reed used to have dreams-of becoming a famous drummer, of marrying her true love. But all of that was taken away in an instant. Now she's getting by as best she can, though sometimes that means doing things the old Nova would never do. Things that are slowly eating away at her spirit. Every day blends into the next . . . until she meets Quinton Carter. His intense, honey brown eyes instantly draw her in, and he looks just about as broken as she feels inside.

Quinton once got a second chance at life-but he doesn't want it. The tattoos on his chest are a constant reminder of what he's done, what he's lost. He's sworn to never allow happiness into his life . . . but then beautiful, sweet Nova makes him smile. He knows he's too damaged to get close to her, yet she's the only one who can make him feel alive again. Quinton will have to decide: does he deserve to start over? Or should he pay for his past forever?

Review:

"The only things I don't know if how many seconds, hours, years, decades, it will take before I can let go of the goddamn self-induced numbness. Until then I'll count, focus on numbers instead of the feeling always floating inside me, the ones linked to image immersed just beneath the surface."

Its Jessica Sorensen so I already known that this book was going to be fantastic, dark, and unfortunately left with a cliffhanger.

Nova was the one to find her boyfriend death body and it broke her. Its been a year or so and shes still going through what looks like post traumatic stress disorder and the only way to keep her calm is to keep counting.

A little reckless act has left Quinton feeling dead inside when he was involved in a car accident that left 2 dead. With all that guilt he has Quinton looses himself in drugs to keep the memories and problem at bay. It's at his room mates house where it meets the lovely Nova. He knows shes too good for him and for this scenes but there she is in the mix. Quinton against his better judgment should stay away from her but can't seem to do it.

"I think that sometimes things just get confusing and we get lost, and sometimes you can't figure out which path is the right path... which is the right decision."

I absolutely loved reading this book. It was very emotional and intense. It was hard to see Nova go down a dark path (as was repeated in the book many times) she was too good for it. She is a character who many can relate to. Or maybe it's just I can relate to her having panic attacks and trying to find some semblance of normal or comfort enjoyed watching her character slowly get out of that funk and better herself. I also enjoyed Quinton's character, I felt that at times he was too hard on himself but people deal with death and being the cause of it in different ways. I hated that there was many times he could've help Nova but didn't. There was just way to many things that should've happens and didn't, but then again its a book so I probably shouldn't think too hard. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. I loved that there was so much going on. This book was beautifully written and fast paced.

I'll be sure to pre-order the next book and be sad until I get a hold of it to see what happens. Highly Recommend!
