Declan
James had just one rule when it came to women. Keep it simple, and
never linger. That all changed the moment he met Leah. Even across
a crowded bar, he could tell she was different. Sweet, with just the
right amount of sass, she made him break his golden rule and now he
couldn’t walk away.
When
casual becomes anything but, and emotions run deep, will Leah and
Declan fight their fears, or let old insecurities destroy their one
chance to discover true happiness? When Declan’s past comes
roaring back in a way neither of them could have expected, will they
stand united or be torn apart by the challenges that lie ahead?
It
was only supposed to be one night, but only forever will do.
My Thoughts:
"When you knew what you were missing, it was almost worse than anticipating something you'd never had. I was like a drug addict standing in front of a dealer, eagerly anticipation her next hit."Leah's life was turned upside down when her mother left leaving her to her alcoholic father. Declan wants to become a producer but must go through the motions and become an actor and work his way up. Leah and Declan had a night they never forgotten and its been years since then and now he's back. They both were going to remain friends but find it hard to do until they just start dating. It's when their pasts come to get them that things get difficult.
This book was interesting. I really enjoyed this book, it was a bit predictable but unique in its own little way. I loved that I got the point of view from both Declan and Leah. I liked that towards about 75% into the book there was a twist put into there that I wasn't expecting. This book was a bit emotional, sweet and steamy and I enjoyed it. 4 of 5 stars.
"There were certain moments in life when I felt like I needed to hold my breath and close my eyes, so I could properly capture the magnitude of what I was experiencing."
