How do you start a new chapter of your life when you haven’t closed the book on the previous one?

Eighteen months ago, Autumn Divac’s husband went missing. Her desperate search has yielded no answers, and she can’t imagine moving forward without him. But for the sake of their two teenage children, she has to try.

Autumn takes her kids home for the summer to the charming beachside town where she was raised. She seeks comfort working alongside her mother and aunt at their bookshop, only to learn that her daughter is facing a huge life change and her mother has been hiding a terrible secret for years. And when she runs into the boy who stole her heart in high school, old feelings start to bubble up again. Is she free to love him, or should she hold out hope for her husband’s return? She can only trust her heart…and hope it won’t lead her astray.

Autumns husband went missing two years ago and she's still reeling from the possible loss. Thats when she finally decides to go back to her hometown with her kids for the summer. She never expected to see a past love and with her husband gone there maybe a second chance at love? Meanwhile someone seems to be bringing up her mothers past, something she's kept well hidden and refuses to go back to it but circumstances are making things harder to keep secret. Then theres Autumns daughter who's life seem to be getting complicated by the moment and have a few life changes coming up. This summer is really a season of discovery and healing.

I usually have a tough time getting into books with more the the two main characters but this book was different. I will admit I did have a lot of confusion trying to get used to the family members and making those connection of how their story was going but once I got the hang of it I was pretty much hooked. This book has the perspective of the grandmother, mother and daughter and each of them are dealing with some hard life choices at the moment and could change everything as they know it if revealed. I loved how each characters remained interesting and unique and I couldn't help but want the best. I will say that I could see where the mothers story was going from a mile away and still managed to get hooked. I thought that twist was going to come eventually and liked how it ended with how it turned out. Overall this was a pretty great book with some deep and complex characters .
