Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in…well, everything. Her identical twin sister Ami, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag) and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of Internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.Olive braces herself to get through 24 hours of wedding hell before she can return to her comfortable, unlucky life. But when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning from eating bad shellfish, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. And now there’s an all-expenses-paid honeymoon in Hawaii up for grabs.
Putting their mutual hatred aside for the sake of a free vacation, Olive and Ethan head for paradise, determined to avoid each other at all costs. But when Olive runs into her future boss, the little white lie she tells him is suddenly at risk to become a whole lot bigger. She and Ethan now have to pretend to be loving newlyweds, and her luck seems worse than ever. But the weird thing is that she doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, she feels kind of... lucky.
Its pretty clear that Olive is the unlucky twin sister. But a bit of luck seems to come in the form of her sister and wedding party getting food poisoning. Since her sister won a honeymoon and they are nontransferable she'll step up and take the place as her sister since they are twins and she'll have to go with the other only survivor of the wedding from hell the grooms brother and her enemy Ethan. Both aren't thrilled about spending time with each other but really don't have much of a choice. Then in comes a her unlucky streak of being a terrible liar and meeting her future boss on trip and it makes things and it more complicated.
Another fantastic book by Christina Lauren! I enjoyed getting to know these characters. I loved the drama and mishaps. But most of all I love hate to love relationships and this book just did it for me. If you are a fan of The Hating Game by Sally Thorne this book, your gonna love this. I loved watching the bit of drama unfold Olive really did seem unlucky. I keep wanting to talk more about this book but find it hard without going too much into it but trust me, check this book out such a fun read.
