Declan James has been Brockton Point’s most ineligible bachelor––happy with his short-term relationships and focusing on his business. But now that his closest friends have found their happily-ever-afters, he can’t help but wonder what that might be like. And then Sophia Strombi shows up on his doorstep.Sophia’s life is––well there’s no other word for it––a mess. She’s grateful to have some work at her brother’s best friend’s bar, and a place to stay. Since she’s working hard to get her life back on track, she’s desperately trying to ignore the fact her boss makes her heart pound in a good way. Wait––no. That’s not good at all.
Besides, she has a huge secret she’s keeping from everyone––one that’s a life-changer.
Sophia is back in her hometown after finding out her Fiance was already married and managed to loose her job at the same time. Now she back trying to pick up the pieces and her brothers friend Declan is trying to help her out with any way he can. He never expected to fall for her. But shes got things to do and the the weight of her family expectations can make things complicated.
Man! I wasn't a fan of Sophia's father. I mean I can get why he would push for her to be in the family business but he didn't have to give her that hard of a time. Sophia has always had someone there to push her this way and that and she wanted to break those ties and clearly with how close knit her family was it going to be hard and it had to be a hard choice clearly from what she was going though. They wanted whats best and she wanted space. It was interesting seeing how she was going to handle the pressure of being back and getting a job that wasn't what her parents approved of. I enjoyed the romance that when on in the book. Overall it was a pretty good contemporary romance I really enjoyed it.
